*Aggrieved presenter of a cheque for clearing, slams N20 million suit against access bank PLC for illegal Acts*
An aggrieved presenter of a cheque for clearing @ the Access Bank Plc, Mr. Olajide Odunaike has sued the Access Bank Plc to the high Court igbosere for a twenty million (#20,000,000.00).
Mr. Olajide Odunaike me a multi-media designer had on the 25th Day of October 2017 presented a cheque of #715,000.00(seven Hundred and Fifteen thousands Naira Only) values, to the Access Bank, located along Bank Anthony Way, Leventies Bus stop Branch. Upon presenting the cheque, the cashier received it and requested Mr. Odunaike to wait for the collection of the money as directed by the issuer of the cheque.
As a great surprise to Mr. Odunaike as @4:00pm on October 25th 2017, he was not paid.
To his greatest surprise, the bank via her cashier withheld the cheque for 14 days.
“I went to the bank on daily basis for 14 days. I was not given any reason why the cheque was withheld by the bank.
“Because I had no money, I used to trek from Alapere to Access Bank Mary Land with the hope of the money.
“I wanted to pay my rent; send some money to my father who resides at Ibadan, Oyo state; pay my younger ones school fees and buy some drugs for an ailment I suffered from”.
“I could not do anything. I became frustrated due to access bank’s illegal acts. I had to instruct my counsel Barrister Folorunso Ogunekun to communicate my travails to Access Bank Plc.”
“Barrister Folorunso Ogunekun did via a letter headlined: *ACCESS BANK PLC TOYS WITH THE LITIGATION DUE TO ITS STAFF EXCESSES / ILLEGAL ACTS*
Upon receipt of the letter, Access Bank Plc returned the cheque to me on November 6, 2017. “my father, Mr. Solomon Feso Odunaike Who also suffered some injuries due to the Access Bank Plc dastardly act also joined in the suit. He is the second Claimant whatsoever”
